Day Twenty-Eight

Once upon a time, approximateIy one month ago, I was having a spirited discussion with my boyfriend about how many band T-shirts I actually own. He told me that I had so many, I could wear a different one every day for a year. I disagreed, so we decided to finally figure it out, once and for all. Highly scientific calculations ensued, and it was determined that there are around 180. Only half a year’s worth (see, that’s not a crazy amount…right?). Somehow, this all led to the idea of me wearing a different T-shirt every day for a month (or 30 days).

I got a haircut today, and the guy blowdried my hair straight. That’s why I look different. The T-shirt is from a band called The Beat Strings, from Waterloo, Iowa. They found my production company somehow on MySpace (this was back in like 2005) and asked if I would book them. I was not familiar with their music, but I went to high school in Des Moines, so I booked them anyway because of the Iowa connection. Then they gave me a free T-shirt. That’s just what us Midwesterners do for each other. In the picture, I am standing by our front door, which has a scary Bonnie “Prince” Billy sticker on it. Who knew that his face could look so much like a skull?
