Best People Ever Throw Art Gallery Opening Party

Written by  //  November 15, 2011  //  Music, The Conservatory, Visual Arts  //  3 Comments

Some of Donnybrook’s favorite glamorous photographers started an art gallery/DIY concert venue called Leon, and they’re throwing a grand opening bash November 19th (this SATURDAY!). It will feature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and the photography of the amazing, worldly photographers Matthew Buford, Lindsay Giles McWilliams, Eric Robert Dallimore, and Sarah Law. I can’t speak on Matthew or Eric, but I know that Sarah and Lindsay are basically rock stars, as they’re at every show in every area code, taking photos in front of and behind the scenes – so there are bound to be some amazing music photos.

More info on Leon:

Located at the heart of 17th Avenue, Leon is a visual and performing arts venue in Denver, CO. A space where artists have the freedom to expand their vision and showcase their work. A space where the community can participate, lend their support and simply enjoy the inspirational atmosphere.

The Photographers

Eric Robert Dallimore (New Orleans, LA) is a vehement visual artist who moved to Denver six years ago when he became enticed by the blossoming arts scene in this vibrant city. Upon graduating with his BFA from Louisiana State University in 2004, this emerging artist has accomplished much through his creative faculties including teaching, public art sculptures and residencies in New Orleans, and fine art shows in Denver, New Orleans, San Francisco and Chicago. Lindsay Giles McWilliams (Hanover, NH) studied photojournalism at Brooks Institute of Photography, specializing in music documentary, portraiture, and multimedia. She has created everything from tour documentaries to music videos, and is smitten for the relationship between melody and imagery. Lindsay is in the boundless pursuit of communicating the feeling music instills in her, and is thrilled to now have a space in which to share this with her community. ( www.lindsaymcwilliams.com )

Matthew Buford (New Orleans, LA) graduated from Louisiana State University with a BFA in Photography. Concentrating on portraits, the human form, and street photography, Matthew strives to share the human experience through his art. Whether it be through his photography or his printmaking, the chance to move someone with an image is what he thrives on.

Sarah Law (San Diego, CA) is a free spirit who roams the planet capturing life on the road with bands. She spends much of her time in vans and in greenrooms showing a side of the music world that is rarely seen. The day to day/offstage life of up and coming artists. A chance encounter while shooting a wedding several years ago has led to a nomadic life that has allowed her to pursue her passion for photography, music, travel and people across the globe.
