Bob Geldof mentions These United States in IFC interview with Ted Leo

To be a fly on the wall watching a conversation about music between Bob Geldof and Ted Leo is already exciting; then SXSW 2011′s keynote speaker Bobby G mentioned how he’d like to check out These United States’ set at SXSW! (It’s around the 7 minute mark, but you should watch the whole thing).

It’s okay that he first calls them “Empire of the United States” or something. As their publicist, I still swelled with pride. Maybe this will spawn a glam collabo with Empire of the Sun. And if we’re keeping tally here, which we’re not, there are totally a lot of important famous people (Lou Reed and Hal Willner, anyone?) who like this band, and don’t you forget it.

Colin Meloy from the Decemberists also loves TUS! He tweeted something about that after last years Pick-a-thon Festival.
