This sounds like it could be a fun soundtrack for any feminist/lesbian rights get together this year. May 8th is the drop date for the new album, Boulder, by Bitch and Ferron. Why is this interesting to me? Because it features JD Samson of Le Tigre, that’s why. The down side: It also features singers Ani diFranco and the Indigo Girls.

The French sure know how to throw a bad-ass festival.
For people who need to have everything punk rock, check out “The Punk Rock Movie“, a documentary of the rise of punk in London, circa 1978. If you are a fan of punk rock, you probably own this movie already, but if you don’t, you can watch it for free by clicking the link. The low-fi footage was taken by Don Letts, the DJ at the legendary London dive the Roxy. The movie features the Sex Pistols, the Clash, Generation X, X-Ray Spex, Siouxsie and the Banshees, the Slits and others in their natural habitat.

sorry but ladytron is at my brother’s club, belly up, solana beach, CA on may 31, not in aspen-wish they were. and, thanks for the the article on beta…it was quite amusing. we shall do that again, i promise more silliness, AND, i know how to get matt to do tricks, like sit (without a barstool), etc…i’ve seen it happen at belly up (aspen) and expect the tricks (kind of like stupid pet tricks) can be transfered to LoDo even. better yet, why not get you folks to belly up for mike ness, or boy george, or infected mushrooms…something fun!

Hey Michael. Speaking of your brother’s Belly Up, I just read about it in this month’s Spin. Check out the “City Guide” section.
They had this to say about it: “If not for this hangar-shaped venue, the city’s northern coast would be mired in martini blues bars. It’s beach vibe and studio-grade sound mean both Super Furry Animals and Adrian Belew fit well playing for a diverse crowd of bros, hippies, indie scenesters, and yacht rockers.”
If you replace “beach vibe” with “mountain vibe” it could almost be a review of Aspen’s Belly Up venue.
