Katniss Everdeen Glams Up for Dior
Jennifer Lawrence Lands the Role of a Lifetime
Remember that time when I wrote about how Brad Pitt was the new face of Chanel? Yeah this is kinda like that, only this is something I am super thrilled about: Jennifer Lawrence, celebrated star of The Hunger Games, has landed the role of a lifetime. She has been chosen to be the new face of Dior’s Miss Dior handbag, a role previously held by Mila Kunis and Marion Cotillard. This really means that she is a woman that can totally kick your ass and shoot an arrow through your heart, looking totally glamorous doing it.
Taking it at face value, I was a little surprised at the choice because it really seems as if Jen Lawrence is not “super glamorous.” And when I say “super glamorous,” I mean Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot-esque. I mean, in The Hunger Games, her claim to fame, she’s covered in dirt, sweat, and blood. However, the Dior ad campaign chose well in choosing an actress who is low-key, yet super hot.
On being chosen to be such a glamorous icon? She spoke to Eonline, saying that “It’s such a dream to represent an iconic brand that is synonymous with high fashion.” Lawrence said in a statement: “I’m so excited to be working with the fashion house and wear the new creations by Raf Simons. His most recent haute couture and ready-to-wear collections glamorously capture the modern era at Dior.” This kick-ass print campaign will hit magazines early next year.
