In a genius marketing move, Monolith music festival is releasing this year’s lineup one band at a time. Over the next couple weeks, two participating bands will be announced daily through Twitter and Facebook. Aside from the uber-relevant use of the tweet phenomenon, the real genius to this strategy is how it makes every artist seem like a big deal. At the same time, the excitement gets drawn out rather than all getting blown in one load.

You can be among the first to learn the lineup by following Monolith Festival on Twitter, or becoming a fan of the festival’s Facebook page. Or you can just wait to see if a band you already follow gets announced via their own Twitter/Facebook profile.

Groups already announced as of this posting: STARFUCKER; Girl Talk; (Donnybrook favorite) Thao with The Get Down Stay Down; (Denver’s own) Speakeasy, Tiger; Method Man & Redman; The Pains of Being Pure at Heart; Health; The Walkmen; Frightened Rabbit; Thunderheist; (Donnybrook favorite) These United States; Passion Pit (Didn’t they play last year?); Harlem Shakes; Monotonix; Woodhands; (Denver’s own) Gregory Alan Isakov; The Dandy Warhols; The Twilight Sad.
