Snobcast Recap:2007.8
Written by Father Guido Sarducci IV // December 24, 2007 // The Conservatory // No comments
Awww, the Best-Of list. Everybody longs to have the definitive outlook, but nobody ever gets it right. So here’s what we will be doing: We will be analyzing the year end lists of some other “reputable” music publications, I’ll sort of edit them accordingly to fit my preferences, and then play those songs on the Snobcast. Then you, the reader, can tell me what you think should stay; what should go; and what should be added or subtracted from the list/playlist. In the end we will have compiled the definitive Best of 2007 list.
This is who has been dismissed from and who has been added to the list:
| Additions: | Subtractions: | ||
| Wilco | Kings of Leon | ||
| Amy Winehouse | Kaiser Chiefs | ||
| LCD Soundsystem | The Coral | ||
| Klaxons | Klaxons | ||
| Arcade Fire | Kevin Drew | ||
| Neil Young | Robyn | ||
| Tegan & Sara | Gogol Bordello | ||
| Lily Allen | Rilo Kiley | ||
| The White Stripes | |||
| Arctic Monkeys | |||
| Lil Wayne | |||
Best-Of revealed after the jump. First though. Do you wanna see the “worst” Best-Of lists this year? Here’s some links.
Uncle Jann still rocks to Fogerty
Our grandparents contribute to heroin; Amy Winehouse
That “Umbrella” song is still stuck in my head, and Rihanna is hot, let’s put her on the list
I like listening to NPR, because I’m an intelectual and that Terry Gross is a sexy mother. One of the many intellectual offerings on NPR here in Denver is the program All Things Considered and the spin-off All Songs Considered. It seems that the listeners of these programs have much the same mainstream/indie tastes as many of the other Best-Ofs that we’ve seen. I still wanted to showcase this list because NPR is a worthy plug and the only list so far to allow for me to play my three 2007 crushes (#23 Tegan & Sara and #24 Lily Allen).
Here’s their list:
