Soundcheck: Week of April 22nd

Written by  //  April 22, 2008  //  The Conservatory  //  2 Comments

This week I’m very excited to highlight the CD release party of Denver’s best up-and-comers. The Widowers will be celebrating their recorded debut at the Larimer Lounge on Thursday. In honor of these fabulous youngsters, I’m bookending this edition of the Soundcheck with tracks off the album. Catch them now because these kids are still precocious and humble, but they’ll soon be too huge to be concerned with the little people. Donnybrook welcomes the Widowers to the upper-crust of society.

Fantastic! Never heard American Relay before – I owe you one. “Earring in the Shag” is a jarring little ride – someone tell those boys they’ve got something going.

And how can you not love Ian Cooke?!?
