It’s still strange to think how warmly the world has embraced The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, a band whose early singles showed an undying devotion for the twee jangle of the Sarah Records catalog and nary a glimmer of large scale commercial potential. They were high on talent and passion, to be sure, but it would have seemed ridiculous to imagine them as musical guests on Late Night with David Letterman.

Yet there they were (again) last night, letting loose an excellent performance from this single from their second LP, Belong, which hits shelves on March 29th courtesy of their longtime home, Slumberland Records.
