VHS or Beta, bite-sized!

Angora Holly Polo interviewed VHS or Beta, and is giving you parts of the interview in teasing snippets leading up to their December 6th show at the Bluebird. All photos are by 28 Deep.

In typical music journalist form, I just had to ask VHS or Beta’s Mark Guidry *the Radiohead question*: Are you doing anything different to keep up with the changing music industry?

“We’re not really doing anything, we’re just kind of going with the flow. It’s really hard these days because labels don’t have any money, so there’s no money trickling down. We’re living day-to-day and just trying to get by, and trying to do what we love and provide something that people love.

We do have fans and we wanna stay around for them, but it’s tough. It’s getting increasingly tougher. “

Angora: “Don’t you also release remixes for DJs?”

“We did have one extra track we that we didn’t put on the record -I think it’s on iTunes – called ‘Army of None.’ But other than that, we have a ‘Burn it Down’ single that has a few remixes on it. But usually we tend to put white labels out with a couple of remixes so DJs can spin them.”

Stay tuned for more, and visit 28 Deep’s flickr to see more photos of them!
