Memphis "I Am the Photographer"

I’m hard pressed to think of the last time I saw a music video as affecting as the one for “I Am the Photographer,” a cut from Memphis‘ new album, Here Comes A City. The song and video both echo the themes documented in the riveting and disturbing 2006 documentary The Bridge, which chronicled the Golden Gate Bridge’s notorious appeal to suicidal jumpers.

Fans of Stars will be familiar with Memphis’ vocalist Torquil Campbell, whose work with Chris Dumont as Memphis has always been marked with a more introspective, glimmering sheen than his more famous main project.
