Hellraiser: 25 Years of Pinhead Love

In honor of Hellraiser’s 25^th anniversary yesterday I’m in the middle of a full-fledged Hellraiser marathon. The resulting nightmares are delicious horror-themed dreamscapes that would make Barker incredibly proud, and I’ve never craved bloody meat more in my life.

Hellraiser may not be the fastest moving horror film to come out of the 80’s, but to that I say get over it. Jump cuts and fast moving sliced up tits do not a horror movie make (okay, maybe they do) – but what Hellraiser offers is deeper than that. It makes you think, it makes you cringe, and it makes you hot for a sexually ambiguous dom with needles jammed into his head with beautiful symmetry. Okay maybe that last part’s just me. I’m kind of fucked up.
